Things to wine about...

Posted by Cynthia Adair on

I have always been a Winey Girl, mind you it began with wine coolers, Bartle’s & James Black Cherry being my favorite (circa. 1989) and for many years I partook in this refreshing beverage. Then as my tastes matured I progressed to…wait for it…white zinfandel!
Ok, I will give you a minute to smirk or possibly laugh. Throughout my twenties this was my drink of choice and in my defense people enabled this behavior, family members would have it available when I was present, friends would place bows on it and give it to me as gifts, I was unduly influenced to continue thinking that I was drinking wine. Quick digress, recently I was feeling nostalgic and purchased a bottle of white zen…um ya no…
Then one Thanksgiving my sister told me it was time to grow-up and proceeded to pour me a glass of Chardonnay. I am not going to lie, at first it was a bit hard to drink without making a face at each sip but…never let it be said I was not up to a challenge…I learned to enjoy a chilled glass of Chardonnay.
I soon became a “white wine drinker” until a trip to Bordeaux where horror of horrors… They. Do. Not. Make. White. Wine! But being the trooper I am, I made do with red and finally completed my journey to becoming a full fledged wine drinker. And thus the adventure began...
Please come back often to visit my little neck of the web where I  share my Winey Girl Adventures or simply “wine about things”.
Cheers!
